- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. The only voucher of Kellogg's sedge from the Watershed was found in a meadow associated with Engelmann spruce at the summit of Wolf Creek pass (Mineral Co, 1949). There are a number of records of Carex kelloggii (often treated as Carex lenticularis var. lipocarpa) just west of the Continental Divide in the San Juan River drainage. The lower USA distribution of this species covers all Western states. It has been found, uncommonly, in Rio Arriba, Taos, and Santa Fe counties of New Mexico, but not farther south in the Rio Grande drainage.
