- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. In the Watershed, Raynolds's sedge has been vouchered from only two locations: in spruce-fir and tundra South Fork of the Conejos River (Conejos Co, 1985), and in a wet tundra meadow 0.5 miles west of Kerr Lake (Conejos Co, 1987). In the lower USA, Carex raynoldsii is found in all Western states with the except of Arizona and New Mexico. So these two Watershed locations are the only ones in the Rio Grande drainage. This sedge is distinguished by its ovate orangish perigynia with dark scales.
