- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Liddon's sedge has been recorded from only one Watershed county, Conejos, and from only two locations in it: in mixed conifer by Lower Silver Lake (Conejos Co, 1984) and in pinyon/juniper at La Botica (Conejos Co, 2017). In the lower USA, Carex petasata is found in similar habitats in the Intermountain region and Rocky Mountains of the West. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage two-thirds of the way down New Mexico, but no farther down stream.
