- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Woolly sedge has been collected fairly often from the Watershed. Its habitat consists of boggy meadows and stream and ditch sides in basin, foothill, and montane. Distribution in the lower USA is extensive, spreading solidly through all states except the Deep South and almost all of Texas. Carex pellita follows the Rio Grande drainage through all of New Mexico, but not into Texas.
