- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Bog sedge has been vouchered from only two high-elevation areas in the Watershed: from the high lakes west of Platoro (Conejos Co, 1945), and from near Glacier Lakes on the Vermejo Park Ranch (Costilla Co, 2014). This is a distinctive sedge, sometimes forming mats in lakes, that in the past taxonomists have placed into different genera. Its distribution in the lower USA states covers, in a scattered way, all Western states except for Arizona and New Mexico, and around the Great Lakes eastward to upper New England. The locations in the Watershed are the only ones, so far, recorded from the Rio Grande drainage.
