- NEEDED IN SITU PHOTOS. Jones's sedge has been recorded from only three locations in the Watershed, all in Conejos Co: between Fish Lake and Blue Lake (Conejos Co, 2001); beside the highway at La Manga pass in a wet drainage area (Conejos Co, 2012); north fork of the Conejos River (Conejos Co, 2013). These location are accepted by Ackerfield (2022) but not BONAP (2025). The distribution of Carex jonesii in the lower USA states is centered in the mountain ranges of California and Oregon, with scattered locations in the rest of the Western states. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage only into Rio Arriba Co, where it is uncommon.
