- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Bottlebush sedge has been vouchered only twice within the Watershed: on the west side of Grayback Mountain north of Summitville (Rio Grande Co, 1978), and by beaver ponds in Rhodes Gulch two miles west of Silver Lakes (Conejos Co, 1985). BONAP and Ackerfield (2020) accept the first of these voucher determination but not the second. Carex hystericina is wide spread in the lower USA states, recorded from all except Nevada and the Deep South. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico and continues on down through Texas into the Big Bend region, no farther down stream.
