- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There is only one voucher determined as Hood's sedge from the Watershed: three miles west of Aspen Glad cpgd, on gravelly soil of a montane southeast facing slope (Conejos Co, 1986). The specimen should be checked. In Colorado, Carex hoodii is found primarily in the north-western quarter of the state. The species is wide spread in all Western USA lower states except for Arizona and New Mexico. So the lone Watershed occurrence would be the only one in the entire Rio Grande drainage.
