- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Despite numerous Colorado records from just across the Continental Divide in the San Juan River drainage, Geyer's sedge has only one voucher from the Watershed: campground on Rio Chama along Archuleta Creek in coniferous forest and along the creek in willow carrs (Archuleta Co, 2004). BONAP (2025) also shows Rio Grande Co. In the lower USA, Carex geyeri is common in the Rocky Mountain states, with scattered locations in northern California, Nevada, and Arizona. It follows the Rio Grande drainage only through Rio Arriba and Sandoval counties, no farther down stream.
