- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Threadleaf sedge has been vouchered from only two locations in the Watershed: by Deep Creek trail south of Creede (Mineral Co, 1911), and near Dry Gulch Road west of the town of Saguache (Saguacho Co, 1999). For both, the habitat was dry grassy montane slopes with coniferous margins. The distribution of Carex filifolia in the lower USA is all Western and upper Great Plains states. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage halfway through New Mexico but no farther down stream.
