- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. So far slender cottongrass has been vouchered three times from the Watershed: one mile SSW of Green Lake (Conejos Co, 1988), twelve miles SSW of Platoro (Conejos Co, 2016), and on the Sand Creek Trail (Saguache Co, 2011). The habitat was rocky wooded soil (montane) or alpine bog (tundra). The USA distribution is spotty throughout and the species is uncommon in California, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana, common only around the Great Lakes and upper New England.
