- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Fewflower spikerush has been vouchered fairly often from the Watershed but only from the South San Juans. Eleocharis quinqueflora is higher elevation compared to some other Watershed spikerushes, growing most often in wet montane and subalpine meadows. The USA distribution covers all Western states and, uncommonly, states in the northern quarter of the nation. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico, most frequently in the Sangre de Cristo mountains (according to Allred et al., 2022)—which suggests that it probably could be found in the Culebras of the Watershed. It does not extend into Texas.
