- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. In the Watershed, Nevada bulrush has been recorded only from the Upper Basin. The habitat is alkaline and saline flats. Amphiscirpus nevadensis is easily recognized by its ridged but round stem (not three-angled, as most sedges), and by the long bract that extends beyond the inflorescence. The USA distribution is all Western states except for Idaho, Arizona, and New Mexico. The Watershed locations are the only ones in the Rio Grande drainage.
