- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Basically Plummer's cliff fern has only two recorded locations in the Watershed, in the foothills and montane south and west of the town of Saguache (four occurrences), and in the hills north of Terrace Reservoir (one occurrence). Woodsia plummerae grows in pinyon juniper habitat, in rock crevices with drainage. The USA distribution of the species is Arizona and New Mexico, with Colorado occurrences shown as uncommon in BONAP. W. plummerae follows the Rio Grande drainage from Taos Co (bordering the Watershed) to the Mexican border and on down through western Texas up to the Big Bend region. Note that the feature distinguishing W. plummerae from the much more common W. neomexicana—the indusium of the sorus—is not easily seen in the field, and that therefore W. plummerae may be undercounted in the Watershed.
