- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. From the Watershe, there is only one vouchered record: two miles southwest of Hidden Lake, among rocks (Conejos Co, 1986). Cystopteris montana may have more of a presence in the Watershed than this one record suggests, with collectors mistaking it for the extremely common Cystopteris fragilis. In the USA, C. montana would be endemic to Colorado save for a few occurrences in extreme northwest Montana. World wide, the species is circumboreal. The one Watershed location is the only one in the Rio Grande drainage.
