- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Colorado woodrush has been vouchered in three Watershed locations: Skyline Trail, NNW of Creede (Saguache Co, 1962); Upper West Fork of Mineral Creek (Hinsdale Co, 1999); and Trail Lake (Conejos Co, 2003). The habitat is alpine meadow or alongside alpine lake. World-wide, the distribution of Luzula subcapitata is restricted to Colorado, where it it is foudn uncommonly down the central Rockies. The Watershed locations are the southernmost of this range and the only occurrences in the Rio Grande drainage. Note that BONAP (2025) does not accept the Conejos specimen, whereas Ackerfield (2022) does.
