- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Least moonwort has been vouchered only twice from the Watershed: west of Terrace Reservoir (Conejos Co, 1995) and between Fish Lake and Blue Lake (Conejos Co, 2001). In the USA, Botrychium simplex is present in all Western states except for Arizona, as well as across the Great Lakes into New England. It follows the Rio Grande drainage through Taos and Santa Fe counties of New Mexico but no farther down stream. Note that in Europe and in many USA states its conversation status ranges from special concern through believed extirpated (Connecticut and Maryland).
