- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Ackerfield (2022), questioning whether path rush, Juncus tenuis, occurs in the state of Colorado, says that "all specimens of J. tenuis I have seen are J. dudleyi.". She doesn't say whether she has inspected the voucher of a specimen found along Medano Creek in the Great Sand Dunes (Saguache Co, 1991). BONAP also indicates Rio Grande Co for J. tenuis, based on a collection or collections not in SEINet. This clever rush species can be found along paths and roads, in yards and fields, in a wide range of substrates, wet or dry, sandy or clayey. It hybridizes with another Watershed rush, J. interior. It has been recorded from all states of the USA. It follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico (where, however, it is rare) into the west tip of Texas but no farther down stream.
