NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Evidence for the presence of knotted rush in the Watershed lies the indication of Conejos Co in BONAP (2025). The presence there may rely on H. D, Harrington's collection near Los Ceritos along the Conejos River a little south of Hwy 142 (Conejos Co, 1956). In her distribution map for Juncus nodosus, Ackerfield (2022) does not show this collection, but Harrington's voucher does not have georeferences and would not then appear in Ackerfield's map. Allred et al. (2020) show J. nodosus for all the counties in New Mexico bordering Colorado. Allred et al. also have a detailed comparison of J. nodosus and J. torreyi—the two species are often confused. The USA distriibution for J. nodosus is quite extensive, covering all states in the northern third of the country as well as all the Rocky Mountain states. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage, in spots, down to and including the Big Bend region of Texas.
