- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There is only one vouchered record for Sierra rush: 3 miles south of Fox Creek (Conejos Co, 2004). Juncus nevadensis plants were found in a creek channel and in adjacent meadow. The location is reasonable, since the species has been recorded in similar habitat from neighboring counties in New Mexico (Rio Arriba, Taos, Colfax). J. nevadensis is present in every Western state of the USA. It follows the Rio Grande drainage only two counties into northern New Mexico. Note that J. nevadensis is hard to tell from J. mertensianus, another Watershed rush.
