- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Colorado rush has been vouchered three times from the Watershed: on the Rio Chama river (Archuleta Co, 2004); eight air miles southwest of South Fork (Mineral Co, 2003); and in the floodplain of the Rio Grande within the town limits of Alamosa (Alamosa Co, 1972). This last collection is doubtful and not accepted by Ackerfield (2022), although not impossible. The usual habitat of Juncus confusus is wet meadows and pond and creek margins. The species is found in all USA Western states, with a center in Wyoming and northern Colorado. It follows the Rio Grande drainage only to the northern counties of New Mexico.
