NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. So far California brome—perennial and cool-season—has been vouchered only four times from the Watershed, from Archuleta Co (2004), Conejos Co (2004), Rio Grande Co (2003), and Mineral Co (Wheeler Monument, 2004). The habitat is montane forest clearings and slopes. Note that Shaw 2008 shows no counties from the Watershed, and remarks that the Colorado habitat of Bromus carinatus (under the name Ceratochloa carinata) is "roadsides and old fields, escaped from cultivation." The species has been used for revegetation and control of erosion. Its USA distribution is solidly through all Western States. It follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico and on down through Texas to the Big Bend region.
