- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. The introduced Russian wildrye has been recorded from both sides of the Watershed in a variety of ruderal ground: alongside Hwy 159 north of San Luis (Costilla Co, 1994); on a dam reclamation SSE of Poncha Pass (Saguache Co, 1998); in Bureau of Land Management juniper control, west foothills of Mount Blanca (Alamosa Co, 1968). Psathyrostachys juncea has been used for stabilization projects. The USA range is defined by scattered records from the Intermountain region and the Rockies, from Canadian to Mexican borders. P. juncea follows the Rio Grande drainage, spottily, through New Mexico but not on into Texas.
