- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Inland bluegrass, vouchered often in the Watershed, has been recorded at least once from all mountain ranges, east and west. In the montane, Poa interior favors creek banks; in the subalpine and tundra, it grows on cliff sides and among woods, for instance, Picea engelmannii. Its USA range overlaps with P. glauca: all Western states except for Oregon and California. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage halfway down New Mexico. Note that distinguishing between P. interior and P. glauca requires a close look at the lemma.
