- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Glaucous bluegrass has been vouchered quite often from the Watershed, from all mountain ranges, always in the subalpine or alpine zones, where is grows in dry habitats: slopes, meadows, ridges, etc. In the USA, Poa glauca grows in the same areas as Poa interior (from which it is not easy to distinguish): all Western states except for the Pacific coast. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico almost to the Mexican border, but not into Texas.
