- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Cusick's bluegrass has been recorded from only three locations in the Watershed, all in the west-side mountain ranges: the south side of Pintada Mountain (Rio Grande Co, 1984), above Creede (Mineral Co, 2004), the Continental Divide trail (Conejos Co, 2004). In the Watershed, the consistent habitat is alpine or subalpine meadows, although else Poa cusickii can range on down to foothills and plains. In the USA, the species has been recorded from all Western states except for Arizona (it extends on up into Canada. Allred et al. (2020) do not show it in New Mexico, but BONAP (2025) show it as uncommon there. The Watershed locations may represent the farthest southeast point of the North American range of this species.
