- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There are no Watershed vouchers for perennial ryegrass, but Shaw (2008) and BONAP (2025) show Rio Grande, Alamosa, and Saguache counties. Lolium perenne is an exotic, introduced as a lawn and pasture grass, and often escaping. There are many recorded escapes, from all USA states. In the Rio Grande drainage, such occurrences continue on down through New Mexico and, spottily, all the way through Texas to the Gulf of Mexico.
