- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Tall mannagrass has been vouchered twice from the Watershed, on the Middle Fork of San Francisco Creek 10 miles south of Del Norte (Rio Grande Co, 1984), and 12 miles northwest of Capulin (Conejos Co, 2003). This scant herbarium record may understate the presence of Glyceria elata, which is very similar to two other species of Glyceria more common in the Watershed, G. striata and G. grandis. Habitat is marshy ground, sometimes in aspen groves. The USA distribution is all states west of the Great Plains. The species, although uncommon, follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico but not into Texas.
