- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Porter's melic has been vouchered around eight times from the Watershed, but from only two locations: from Wagon Wheel Gap to above Creede (Mineral Co), and two miles SSE of Ruybalid Lake (Conejos Co). Habitat is moist ravines, sandy banks, and hillside in the montane. The USA distribution centers on Arizona, central and west Colorado, and New Mexico, where is follows the Rio Grande drainage from north to south and continues on down into the Big Bend region of Texas.
