- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Only one voucher supports the presence of purple onionweed in the Watershed, found by a pond edge near Neff Springs, 1 mile ESE of Neff Mountain (Conejos Co, 1988). Shaw (2008) also shows Saguache Co, with a location or locations that may or may not lie in the Watershed. These occurrences stand at the extreme southeast corner of the USA distribution of Melica spectabilis. If legitimate, they would be the only location for the species in the entire Rio Grande drainage.
