- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Introduced from Eurasia, green foxtail is a highly successful invader of ruderal spaces such as roadsides, lawns, vacant lots, and sidewalks. It is recorded from every USA state. In the Watershed, however, it has been vouchered only twice: from the town of Romeo (Conejos Co, 1930), and from the McIntyre Ridge just north of the town of Saguache (Saguache Co, 1999). Shaw (2008) also shows Costilla Co. Allred et al. (2020) mark it present in all counties of New Mexico, and BONAP (2025) mark it following the Rio Grande drainage just past the Big Bend regions.
