- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Escapes of cultivated corn occasionally can be found alongside fields and roadsides. There are no SEINet vouchers from the Wateshed (who would take the time to collect one?). But Shaw (2008) indicates Alamosa Co and BONAP indicates also Conejos Co. BONAP shows escapes from every state of the USA, with a few observations following the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico but no farther down stream. Escapes of Zea mays do not persist, of course, since domesticated corn cannot reproduce itself.
