- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Indian lovegrass has been vouchered eight times from the Watershed, all around or in the town of Alamosa (the 1896 specimen is labeled "Alamosa, Conejos Co"). It prefers open, weedy, ruderal habitat, and can be found around ditches and in gardens. Although documented from all USA states except for Utah, Eragrostis pilosa is much less common than its closest relative, E. pectinacea. It has been reported from only three Rio Grande drainage counties in New Mexico (Allred et al, 2020 could find no authenticated specimens), and it is absent from the drainage in Texas except for where it flows into the Gulf of Mexico.
