- There are no records of sagebrush buttercup from the Watershed before 2021. The presence there of Ranunculus glaberrimus is supported by three recent iNaturalist photorecords: Mosca Creek, Alamosa Co, 24 March 2021 (#83190878); near Elwood pass, Rio Grande Co, 14 June 2021 (#830409759); and Cumbres pass, Conejos Co, 17 June 2023 (#168379791). The species is present in all USA states from the Rockies westward. In Colorado, it has been found primarily on the west slope and in the Front Range down to Park Co. The few records from New Mexico do not lie in the Rio Grande drainage, so the Watershed occurrences are the only ones from that drainage.
