NEED IN SITU PHOTO. White poplar is a non-native tree, in the Watershed always planted originally. Seedlings can spread but not far from the parent, and trees often outlast the homesteaders and their homes. Ackerfield (2022) indicates a location for Populus alba near or in the Baca NWP, with no record in SEINet. There is a tree or trees on the Adams State University campus recorded in 1953 and 2023 (iNaturalist observation 162755738). Among poplars, P. albus is easily recognized by its palmately lobed leaf.
