- NEEE IN SITU PHOTOS. In the Watershed, Persian speedwell has been observed only once, on the grounds of faculty housing of Adams State University (03 May 2023, Alamosa Co). The location agrees with recent iNaturalist observations of Veronica persica, for instance from a city park in Pueblo, the Fort Lewis campus in Durango, a street side in Telluride, a city park in Moab. Probably it has long been present in the Watershed, just not recorded since it tends to be a lawn flower (Mat Sharples, personal communication). In the USA, the species has been recorded since 1829 from every state, except for North Dakota, with concentrations in the West coast, Gulf coast, and Appalachian states. It has scattered observations down the Rio Grande drainage to the Big Bend country of Texas.
