- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. The lone voucher from the Watershed identified as Mertensia perplexa was collected by the Mertensia authority Mare Nazaire in 2009, on the Continental Divide east of Silverton near the ghost mining town of Carson (Hinsdale Co). There may be other vouchers, determined as "Mertensia viridis" before Nazaire and Hufford's revision of the genus (2014). Judging from the other SEINet vouchers determined as M. perplexa, the USA range of the species runs through the high country of Idaho, Wyoming and Montana down into Colorado, where the majority of records originate (Boulder, Chaffee, Clear Creek, Gilpin, Grand, Hinsdale, Lake, and Summit counties).
