- Loesel's hedge-mustard, an exotic, has been collected from five locations in the Lower Basin and its foothills, in disturbed ground and near water; for instance on Hwy 159 S of San Luis by a small reservoir (Costilla Co, 1998), or 4 km south of Fox Creek community in the Conejos River drainage (Conejos Co, 2023). Sisymbrium loeselii, usually considered a roadside weed, has spread through all states in the northern USA. Note, however, that there was a collection, in 1933, from Doña Ana Co in south New Mexico, in the Rio Grande drainage. So far the species has not spread father down stream.
