- Heal-all has long been recorded from the North Cristos and Culebras and from the south San Juans of the Watershed, sometimes only locally common. It is most often found in mesic meadows and forest openings of the montane. The heal-all found in the Watershed belongs to the native variety Prunella vulgaris var. lanceolata, which is found throughout the USA West in similar habitats. (The exotic Prunella vulgaris var. vulgaris, with broader, more ovate leaves, is common east of Colorado.) Prunella vulgaris var. lanceolata follows the Rio Grande drainage down nearly to the Mexican border.
