- So far there is only one location for Myosurus minimus [Ranunculus myosurus] in the Watershed, by a stock pond N of the Conejos River. This photorecord would be a new record for the Watershed and would add Conejos to the counties indicated in Ackerfield (2022). Tiny mousetail, however, has been found to the west and the east of the Valley, and in New Mexico counties bordering Colorado in the Rio Grande drainage. It is found throughout the USA except for Florida and New England. Note that the locations in the Rio Grande drainage below Colorado are few and far between, the farthest south being the Big Bend country of Texas. Also note that the International Plant Names Index and World Checklist of Vascular Plants (2023) recommend a nomenclature change from Myosurus minimus to Ranunculus myosurus.
