- This variety of Tetraneuris acaulis, which belies its Latin specific name ("acaulis" means stemless) has been recorded fairly often from both sides of the Valley and also from the Upper Basin (e.g., Saguache). Ackerfield (2022) notes that its Colorardo distribution is "plains, foothills" with an extension into the San Luis Valley. Although it has not been collected in Costilla Co, in New Mexico it has been found in the canyons heading west into the Rio Grande (e.g. Garrapata). Allred et al. (2020) say this variety extends down to Bernalillo Co, New Mexico. It is not recorded from the Rio Grande drainage farther down stream. The USA distribution of Tetraneuris acaulis covers the Rocky Mountain and intermountain states.
