Comments
There are only two records of dwarf rabbitbrush from the Watershed, both in the south San Juans—one from Archuleta Co SE of Price Lakes (1998), the other from a little farther east in Conejos Co (2021). The second, a photorecord, would add Conejos to counties indicated in Ackerfield (2022) and BONAP (2022). In the field Chrysothamnus depressus may be easy to pass over, distinguished from other Watershed rabbit brushes by its relatively large inflorescence, small plant size, and minutely pubescent leaves and involucere bracts. It is a Southwest plant found in south California, south Nevada, north Arizona, Utah, western Colorado, and northwest New Mexico, where it follows the Rio Grande drainage from the border with Colorado halfway down the state.
