- Comments
- For hearts-ease violet, there are only two records from the Watershed. The first was apparently an ornamental that escaped but did not persist for more than three years, by a Del Norte street (May 2015-June 2018, Rio Grande Co). The second was photographed 9 Nov 2021 across the Rio Grande from Alpine (east of South Fork, Rio Grande Co; iNaturalist observation 100750500). Allred et al. (2020) note one record of an escape from Rio Arriba Co. It would mark the southernmost occurrence in the Rio Grande drainage. There are similar records of Viola tricolor scattered across the USA.
