NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Of prairie violet, there is only one record from the Watershed, Wolf Creek Pass (1921), a record which Ackerfield does not accept and BONAP does accept. In Colorado, Viola pedatifida is typically a Plains violet. But note that there are records from Archuleta Co, and that Allred et al. (2020) report it from northwestern New Mexico, including the border counties of Rio Arriba and Colfax. The scarce records from Colorado and New Mexico form a pocket disjunct from the main USA distribution, which is central and northern Great Plains and upper Midwest.
