- INEED IN SITU PHOTOS. n the Watershed, Thalictrum sparsiflorum has been little collected, most often from shaded outcrops, bushy stream sides, and mixed conifer forest. The few records come from the western ranges; e.g., Deep Creek near Creede (Mineral Co, 1937) and Carnero Creek (Saguache Co, 1939), with one east-side record from Trinchera Ranch near Fort Garland (Ramaley, 1939). The species is present in all Western states. BONAP shows at least one record from Rio Arriba Co, New Mexico (with no SEINet vouchers), but not from farther down the Rio Grande drainage. SEINet also has one voucher from Doña Ana Co, New Mexico (dated 1881), but the specimen has been re-determined as a variety of T. fendleri. Note that the flowers of T. sparsiflorum are bisexual (or "perfect"), whereas those of T. fendleri, T. occidentale, and T. venulosum are unisexual (or "imperfect").
