- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For Pedicularis fluviatilis there are four records from La Veta Pass and just west of it, the last dated 1939. There are a number of records from the New Mexico Cristos (as P. canadensis var. fluvialitis), as well as farther south in Rio Grande drainage of Otero Co. In Colorado this is generally a Front Range plant—found in meadows and woods. Note that FNA and other authorities treat this as a variety of P. canadensis. BONAP separates the two and shows a radically disjunct distribution—P. canadensis in all states east off the Great Plains and barely entering them; P. fluviatilis in Colorado and New Mexico and not entering the Great Plains proper, .
