NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There is one collection of Linum rigidum in the Watershed: W of Conejos: 3 miles NW of Fox Creek (1986), which probably is Linum australe (see ANNOTATED PAGE for Linum australe). However, there are a number of records from the eastern slopes of the Colorado Front Range, so this location is not impossible. The USA distribution shows a Plains plant, from Texas to North Dakota, with extensions into the Rockies. The occurrences in New Mexico all lie to the east of the Rio Grande drainage, but BONAP shows an occurrence in Webb Co, Texas, in the drainage about 100 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Note that the usual yellow flax in the south San Juans of the Watershed is L. australe. See ANNOTATED page for L. australe.
