- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There are 7 vouchers identified as Castilleja chromosa from the Watershed: e.g., south of Poncha Pass; Stony Pass; Cat Creek, north of Terrace Reservoir in Conejos Co. All need to be reviewed. Ackerfield does not accept these identifications. If any are correct, they would stand at the eastern limit of the USA distribution. Ackerfield notes that specimens identified as "Castilleja angustifolia" from Colorado are either C. chromosa or C. scabra. Allred et al. (2020) note that a specimen from Taos Co, New Mexico, labeled as "Castilleja chromosa," is really Castilleja linariifolia. There are no more records from farther south in the Rio Grande drainage.
