- Comments
- The most commonly collected of the alpine saxifrages in the Watershed, from both sides of the Valley, Saxifraga flagellaris has been found in the same habitat as the others, wet meadows and rocky slopes and ledges. The most recent locations are Conejos peak in Conejos Co (2018, iNaturalist observation 14066023) and Grayback mountain (2023, iNaturalist observation 172870518). Our species belong to subsp. crandallii. S. flagellaris is found in the Rocky Mountains up to southern Montana and down to Santa Fe Co, New Mexico, as well as northern Arizona. It is easily distinguished from other Watershed saxifrages by its stolons.
