- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. In the Watershed, wedgeleaf saxifrage has only three records: Saguache Co, north Cristos, Cottonwood Lake drainage (1994); Saguache Co, near San Luis Peak (1999); Conejos Co, near Fets Peak (2001). Saxifraga adscendens, always alpine, is uncommon throughout its range, which is the mountains of central Colorado and isolated high elevations in all western USA states except for Arizona and New Mexico. The Watershed locations are the only ones in the entire Rio Grande drainage.
